RWC Stats

We have been using Google Sheets to gather, sort and display data.
Here is what Alper posted on his blog...

Today I was learning how to make a chart using Google sheets.
I enjoyed making the chart because it was very simple.
My digital learning object shows the stats of the RWC Rugby All Black players.
Next time I would change nothing because I think that it looks pretty good.

RWC Sports Uniform Design

Today we were completing a series of design lessons.
We have designed a sports shoe for a Rugby World Cup team.

Today we put it together with an action selfe.
Some of us worked quickly and did a vector drawing of the uniform and added the team colours.
Can you tell which countries the uniforms are for?

Waka Hourua

Awesome day of learning on board the Waka Hourua. Our hub has been split into 5 groups who are all spending about an hour and a half learning about the Waka Hourua. The plan is to learn safety and basic sailing vocab first before ultimately heading out to sea. An awesome environment for learning that connects to our inquiry of 'Early Settlers' and many other opportunities that arise. Highlight for me was the teamwork and leadership displayed.

Heritage Trails

Learning about early settlers in Turanganui a Kiwa.
Another great day of learning outside the classroom about our shared history. Even had time for a quick stop at the park.

Turanganui a Kiwa Mayor

Nga mihi to our Mayor Meng Foon for sharing his whakapapa, his history, his stories and what the future holds for our tamariki.
A fantastic insight into the journey taken by our ancestors to Turanganui a kiwa, the amazing navigation skills used so long ago, the pre arrival of Cook, the changes to what we now call Gisborne and what the immediate future holds.
A wonderful opportunity for our kids to ask some great questions around our Early Settlers unit and being able to make those links to their learning. Today you were great ambassadors for Gisint, Turanganui and yourselves.
We know you made a great impression on the Mayor and on us.
Ka Mau te Wehi....Awesome!!
